Thank you very much Dan. I consider it to have a great depth myself but it actually got refused from a group for the reason "lack of depth" that, I think, is a stupid pretext...

Welcome mate, thats annoying, I've left several groups due to similar things, not worth bothering half the time :)

Me too. Among them was Photography APN. It's annoying to see worse photos getting accepted and yours declined. Also on Photography APN I got a lot of submissions that expired.

well done bogdan nicely conceived shot, good colours and contrast

i may have tried to make it a little simpler by removing the fence and the houses when i composed the shot

Thank you very much Steven. Glad to see you are still here and I'm also glad to receive such a review.
About the fence I like it (it kinda balance the composition)... but about the house you are right... it seems a bit distracting.

Thank you very much Hannah. Are you keeping an eye on my blog? There are now a lot more fall shots there :D
I will see how much requests I will receive for the summer shots. I postponed them so much that now is a bit out of ordinary to post them (that's how I will) but I'll probably give it a go.

Crazy as ever. Things just get busier as you move up in academia. Grad school is so different from undergrad. My last month and a half before break is going to busier than ever. Exams, a presentation, "cumes," finals, papers, grading, classes, teaching, beginning research... I didn't get the thesis advisor I wanted. Go put me in a group I'm not very comfortable in and I'm kinda struggling with it. It's so awkward! *Sigh* I'm trying to trust that He will work it out. I'm afraid of starting off badly and making it harder for Him to use me there.

How about you? You seem rather chipper. How are things going?

Ah, You will survive Hannah. Just don't stress out too bad. He knows how limited your time is. Tell Him all your problems and ask for His help.

I am chipper? Haha, thanks, I've learned a new word. Well, I just found a job. I don't liked and I'm extremely over-qualified for it but oh well... this is my "luck". At least I earn some money, that I needed so much!!! (cause I really was having none, in fact I'm in debt) but yeah I am glad lately. Don't ask me why. Maybe it's because of the hope... it revived. I'm not hopeless now as I was before. I start tot think that maybe after some serious fighting I will succeed. I hope He'll help me.
Be blessed my beloved sister.

Ha, I'm glad I could teach you a new word. :) And I'm really happy for you that you have a job again. God is ever faithful. Make the most out of it and work as for Him.

Indeed, hope is a quintessential human need. I'm glad you have it again. One cannot live without hope. Even in the tough times, you can say with David in Psalm 27:13, "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." As believers, we have for this life and, most importantly, for eternity.

We know He will help. But we do have to seek Him first, above all else. He's been teaching me that. I have to not only desire Him but actively seek Him, putting Him first, in His rightful place. By His grace, you will conquer this. We are more than conquerors through Christ, it says in Scripture (Romans 8:37). Hang in there, brother. I believe He wants to use you in mighty ways. Trust Him. He's faithful. His time scale is just way different than our because He see's what's best for us, the big picture. Take heart brother. He never left you.

"He wants to use you in mighty ways" a lot of people said that. And it is probably true but I don't know how or when and I'm most afraid of not being there for Him when He'll want to use me. I just don't want all the gifts that are in me to be wasted. I feel gifted and I also feel I haven't used at least 5% of my potential for Him. :worry:

i would also get a photo where the tree taking ~90% of the frame

I tried that but I didn't like the result. The background is very important to me as it has a nice texture because of the trees and snow. In a photo like that the background is lost...
Thanks for the suggestion though and thank you very much for taking the time to comment!
I appreciate it.
